Location – Motherwell
By joining our Power Transmission and Distribution team as a Project Manager you will have overall accountability for successful delivery of accommodation covering all projects across Scotland and supporting our delivery teams including; planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out.

What you’ll be doing

  • Hold periodic project reviews and update the Digital Briefcase
  • Ensure reports provide relevant information to enable decisions to be made which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall business strategy
  • Prepare and present both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders
  • Ability to interrogate designs and challenge inputs and deliverables
  • Ensure reports provide relevant information to enable decisions to be made which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall business strategy Health, Safety & Environmental
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in legislation
  • Carry out Safety & Environmental Tours/promote observation and safety initiatives
  • Lead Accident/Incident Investigations and monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement improvement actions
  • Review RAMS and accepting subcontractor RAMS
  • Develop H&S plan and ensure it is treated as a live document and ensure sufficiency and competency of workforce
  • Coordinate and manage all project activities and internal functions and identify and control resource to deliver works
  • Develop, implement and update resource allocations plans and raise appropriate requests
  • Develop high performing teams, promote a pipeline of talent and assist with internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the team. Using the resources available through training, mentoring and performance management.
  • Lead risk/opportunity reviews, ownership of the Risk Register and

Who we’re looking for

  • Formal qualification in project management or equivalent experience
  • CSCS and SMSTS or Equivalent
  • In depth understanding and practical experience of standard forms of contracts
  • Proficient in commercial/project management communications
  • Experience in implementing safe systems of work
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Previous experience overseeing complex projects

Previous experience leading accommodation projects would be beneficial
