Assessment accommodation
The Northern Projects Management Office (NPMO) at the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) is looking for a Project Manager. This exciting position will report to the Senior Project Manager and provide support in the research, analysis, organization of data and information and coordination services to stakeholders and partners related major projects in the North including support for Crown consultation obligations. Through your duties you will have opportunities to learn about the private sector, co-management boards, and governments across all three territories as well as learn about the Crown’s responsibilities with regards to fulfilling duty to consult obligations with Indigenous peoples. Benefits:
The salary range between $79,516 et $113,222 plus a northern allowance. As a federal government employee, you will also receive a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, health and dental insurance.

Education
ED: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

Experiences
EX1: Experience participating in consultation and/or engagement with Indigenous governments and/or Indigenous communities.
EX2: Experience providing written recommendations.
EX3: Experience building and maintaining partner/stakeholder networks.
EX4: Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

ASSET EXPERIENCES

AE1: Experience working in the North, preferably in Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut or Inuit Nunangat.
AE2: Experience working on northern natural resource development issues or files, such as oil and gas, pipelines, mining, infrastructure and economic development.
AEX3: Experience participating in Crown consultation and/or engagement programs.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Willingness and ability to travel in northern Canada and/or to small remote communities in northern Canada.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.

KNOWLEDGE ASSET

AK1: Knowledge of northern Indigenous culture, society and/or economy.
