Description:

Salary - £30,684 to £32,563 (prorated for part-time working)
Permanent and Part-Time, equivalent to 2 full days a week (14.8 hours per week)
Hybrid working (50/50) – can be split over several days

UKCEH is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team of talented scientists, contributing to scientific discovery and generating the data, insights and solutions that researchers, businesses and governments need to solve complex environmental challenges.

You’ll be supporting UKCEH led projects, covering a diverse range of areas. These include long-term studies on wildlife ecology and changes caused by climate change, as well as impacts of offshore renewable developments, fisheries, contaminants and disease on wildlife, with a particular focus on seabird conservation.
Projects are funded by UKRI grants and National Capability, through UK/devolved governments and industry. You’ll be joining a group of 12 scientists and PhD students to help us deliver science with impact.

We need your Project Management experience to support the smooth operations of a number of projects of varying complexity and size, ensuring the project team has the resources, information and assistance needed to function effectively. You’ll be helping to monitor, control, and update project progress, information, deliverables and supporting budgetary management.

  • Supporting the planning, designing, and management of project activities

  • Engaging with a broad range of stakeholders, communicating updates, and gathering feedback to ensure the projects meet desired outcomes
  • Project administration: establishing/maintaining a document library and ensuring the project team are complying with organisational standards

For the role of Project Manager, we’re looking for somebody who has:

  • Foundation-level professional certification in PRINCE2/PRINCE2 Agile, APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) or equivalent experience
  • General knowledge of project management methodologies, with experience in supporting multiple projects of varying complexity
  • Demonstrable ability to promote organisational project management standards
  • Numerate, with experience of managing project finances, with good IT skills (Microsoft Office 365: Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
  • A proven track record of supporting delivery of projects on time and within budget. Managing resources, time, deliverables and project risks, and the ability to guide and motivate project teams
