SKILLS:
- Completed studies in IT, Information management, business economics or similar
- Proven experience in project management .
- Knowledge of modern methodologies and relevant tools; implementation experience is a plus.
- Experience of managing M&A projects including integrations.
- Experience of managing ERP implementations and migrations
- Proactive and solution oriented working style with an agile mindset.
- Team player with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage stress.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (speaking, reading and writing) with good understanding of modern IT landscapes, applications and technologies as well as actual innovative IT trends. Proficiency in French or German would be an advantage, but not essential.
- Familiar with techniques which help in modelling and understanding a business and its operation. Examples: functional business models, statistical process control, relational data modelling, use case.
- Familiar with performing a proof of concept or prototyping exercise to demonstrate or evaluate the feasibility and potential benefits of applying a particular technology, product or toolset to meet a business need.
- Familiar with principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of projects from initiation through to implementation. Example: PRINCE2.
- Familiar with methods and techniques for reporting progress and financial conformance against an agreed plan.
- Familiar with automated tools to assist in the project management process, by automating mechanical tasks such as scheduling, resource balancing, and time recording. Tools and techniques for risk management. Examples: Wrike, Microsoft Project.
- Familiar with methods and techniques associated with planning and monitoring progress of projects. Examples: product/work breakdown structures, baselining, critical path analysis, earned value, resource analysis, conflict resolution.
- Familiar with the identification, assessment and management of project risks, which could result in time or cost over-runs, or failure to deliver products which are fit for purpose.
- Familiar with statutory health and safety requirements relating to working environment.
- Ability to develop, champion, and recommend changes to policies and guidelines to meet strategic objectives, ensuring that such policies are aligned to regulatory requirements in different global territories including regional payment standards.
Responsibilities:
OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
The PMO is a new workstream within the IT & System function to handle business transformation, M&A projects including integrations, relationship management, IT innovation, and the overall IT & Systems delivery portfolio. By improving portfolio processes, engaging with businesses, and scouting new technologies, we support innovative IT solutions and drive change across our global business.
We seek a hands-on Project Manager passionate about successful business transformation and project management, with experience and new ideas to advance our practices. You will be responsible for the management of projects, typically (but not exclusively) involving the development and implementation of business processes to meet identified business needs and drive business value/savings, acquiring and utilising the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality.
This role is based in Coventry, UK and reports to the CIO, with a dotted line to the Global Head of IT. The role will initially have no direct reports, although subject to scope and budget you may be responsible for managing contracted Business Analyst(s) on a per-project basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Defining, measuring, and improving portfolio performance (value, speed, quality)
- Creating and maintaining dashboards, reports, and visualisations
- Supporting strategic alignment, budget, and capacity management, and facilitating communication and coordination between teams and stakeholders
- Defines, documents and safely executes projects actively participating in all phases of the project and its workstreams.
- Identifies, assesses and manages risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies to the success of the project.
- Estimates costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project(s) to agreed terms of reference.
- Prepares and maintains realistic project schedules and quality plans and tracks all activities against them,
- Providing regular and accurate reports to senior management, and client/user management as appropriate.
- Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances.
- Manages the change control procedure, gaining authorisation for revisions to the project(s) from project board and collaborating with the Legal, Compliance & Process teams as appropriate, understanding both technology & people change.
- Ensures that own projects are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured and actioned.
- Produces appropriate documentation to support these processes.
- Provides effective leadership to the extended project team ensuring that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience.
- Actively represents the project team, ensuring that effective relationships are built and maintained with the business.
