Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Engineering & Capital Projects Senior Supervisor, you are responsible for leading the development, planning and field execution of a portfolio of projects in excess of $5M while ensuring the work is carried out safely and within schedule and budget.
Responsibilities:
- Development of underground capital projects including budget, schedule, execution plan, etc.
- Write reports required to obtain project funding.
- Follow Nutrien’s Project Work Management Process.
- Initiate procurement of project materials and resources.
- Create construction work packages for field execution of projects with support and input from stakeholders and resources.
- Responsible for the creation of electrical and instrumentation work packages for the current year mine capital plan. Also required to determine initial scope development of electrical and control related projects for future years in order to assisting in the development of the long term capital plan for the site.
- Perform detailed calculations and authentication of electrical design
- Coordinate with drafting, project managers, in-house support and external contractors as applicable to achieve desired results
- Provide technical direction for and review of studies, reports, estimates, quotes, codes and specifications
- Working closely with the maintenance electrical and instrumentation department
- Ensure successful completion of projects according to clearly defined and agreed upon objectives following the MOC (Management of Change) process.
- Make regular trips underground to evaluate progress on projects, identify missing components, and be available to answer questions from workers in the field.
- Investigation of any project related safety incidents. Implementation of any required corrective action.
- General engineering support for mine operations as required.
