The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, Project Planning and Delivery, a unit of Infrastructure Design and Delivery, is seeking a highly motivated individual for a one-year term position with a possible option to extend.
We are seeking a candidate with excellent interpersonal and management skills to join the Parks Infrastructure Capital Program Design and Delivery team in Regina. The Parks Infrastructure branch is in charge of capital planning, budget development, and delivering Saskatchewan Park’s annual capital program. Park infrastructure includes buildings, roads, bridges, water, wastewater, electrical, and other related facilities. In this role, you will report to the director of Capital Program Design and Delivery and be part of a high-performance team responsible for evaluating, planning, designing, procuring, and constructing various park infrastructure projects.
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Evaluation, planning and successful management of capital projects from conceptual planning through to project close-out;
- Requesting, verifying, and analyzing required background and survey information;
- Hiring and management of architectural and engineering consultants to complete project assessments and detailed design;
- Development and advertising of construction tender packages and other procurements in collaboration with the Single Procurement Service team;
- Ensuring consistent application of design standards and contract specifications;
- Working in collaboration with other ministry business units in the development and optimization of project management and procurement processes;
- Representing the ministry in dealings with private individuals, public agencies, and external stakeholders; and
- Contributing to the ongoing development of project delivery tools, templates and standards.
To qualify for the project manager position, you will possess a technical diploma or engineering degree from an accredited institution and be eligible for registration with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan (TPS) or the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) and have a minimum of five years of direct project management experience.
