HomeLet are looking for a new results orientated Project Manager.
To help lead business change projects, helping deliver key strategic items, for IT centric projects, in Barbon’s five-year plan.
The role will focus on delivering the against objectives agreed with the project sponsor in collaboration with key stakeholders around the business, as well as managing any relevant third-party suppliers, to ensure that the project is delivered on time and to budget and meets the right quality criteria.
The Project Manager will work to support business functions in the delivery of change initiatives, as a pivotal business partner to key business areas to ensure engagement with change and successful delivery of their initiatives.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • 3 Years experience of Agile Project Management.
  • Experience with SDLC management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experienced Technical Product Owner.
  • At least three years’ experience as a project manager working on technical change projects, either in a commercial or public sector environment.
  • Excellent ability to communicate with all levels of stakeholders confidently and effectively to build trusted relationships throughout the lifecycle.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Facilitate project team meetings.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • A self-sufficient individual, able to work autonomously with little to no supervision.
  • A strong working knowledge and experience of operating Waterfall and/or Agile projects.
  • Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#), development frameworks (e.g., .NET, Spring), and database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networking), network architecture, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), cybersecurity principles, and software development methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • To organise, manage and control business and IT project teams to deliver large tech transformation projects and programmes.
  • Lead RFI / RFP’s to support the procurement of appropriate technical solutions, which meet business requirements.
  • Project manage development of in-house APIs.
  • Work with third parties to facilitate integration with inhouse systems.
  • Support internal IT teams to drive internal process improvements relating to the software development life cycle, DevOps, SecOps, and application support.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable plans for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Utilise advanced project management methodologies and tools such as Agile, Scrum, and Kanban to plan, execute, and track technical projects.
  • Manage expectations and provide regular technical updates and progress reports to sponsors and key stakeholders.
  • Develop contingency plans to address technical challenges and ensure project continuity.
  • Implement rigorous quality assurance processes, including automated testing frameworks and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of IT solutions.
  • Project manage internal infrastructure initiatives.
  • Work closely with our finance function on finance initiatives, including platform migration.
  • Help support and implement technical solutions to business problems.
  • To support significant business transformation / change programmes through project management oversight providing guidance and support to project teams.
  • Set, deploy and demonstrate effective governance controls in line with PIB Group Change policy.
  • Develop and maintain a clear stakeholder map highlighting different stakeholder needs and interaction preferences.
  • Manage supplier teams or relationships, where applicable, throughout the Lifecyle of the project or programme.
  • Understand and challenge where necessary the business processes and requirements of users/stakeholders during initiation of the project.
  • Work closely with workstreams/project team to agree robust, realistic, and agreed project plans.
  • Managing capacity and scheduling resources of technical engineers, delivery partners and suppliers
  • Ensure Consumer Duty is considered at the genesis of all projects, including consideration and the documentation of customer journeys.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation.
  • Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Coach team members on Agile principles and best practices.
  • Continuously improve project processes and methodologies.
  • Take ownership and responsibility to ensure all project constraints, actions, risks, dependencies, and issues are identified and then managed.
  • Demonstrably be highly collaborative, motivated and delivery focused.
