A subsidiary of Bird, Innovative Trenching Solutions Ltd. (ITS) specializes in Pipeline Construction, Utility Construction, Wind Farm Construction, and Electrical & Fiber Optic Cable Management throughout Canada and the United States. With a continued focus on Renewable Energy & Telecommunication Projects, we’re looking for individuals interested in learning, growing, and contributing to our growth and expansion.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Manager will work remotely to support ongoing projects with an opportunity for regular travel to our construction sites across North America.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Liaison with Owners, Consulting Engineers and Subcontractors.
  • Assist with preparation and execution of overall work plan and schedule.
  • Client & Company Reporting.
  • Price site instructions, work orders and change notices.
  • Review and process drawings, specifications & codes.
  • Coordination of manpower, material and equipment needs.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly productivity and cost tracking.
  • Prepare cost estimates for new construction, change order and audit purposes.
  • Assist with quality assurance and management of client expectations.
  • Prepare monthly progress application and expedite payment.
  • Provide document turnover to client at completion of project.
  • Trouble-shoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide other technical office support as required by production personnel.
  • Assist with maintenance of project files and preparation of reports.

What We Are Looking For

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Environmental) or certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist.
  • 3+ years of construction and/or general contractor experience.
  • Superior computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing systems, technology and procedures.
  • Confident, detail orientated, enthusiastic and a positive team player
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
  • Effective and efficient problem solving and decision-making skills; thoughtful, proactive and creative.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Interest and ability in conducting regular business travel to construction sites across North America.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
