In this role, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the delivery of Land Development from design to construction as an Engineer/Project Manager.
- Develop project plans by defining project timelines, creating schedules, and cost estimates, and overseeing project progress to make sure deliverables are met on time within the scope and budget, for both internal multi-disciplinary teams and sub-consultants.
- Prepare CAD drawings using AutoCAD, Civil3D and InRoads.
- Design of the site servicing (i.e., Storm, Sanitary and Water), site grading, Erosion and sediment control plans, Stormwater Management and LID measures.
- Servicing Studies and Environmental Assessments including hydraulic modelling, Condition Assessments, Sewer Capacity Analysis, Construction, and Life Cycle Project Costing.
- Seal various Engineering drawings and reports as required.
- Represent LEA as a consulting Engineer in meetings with different clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinate within the design team and sector leads Project Managers with schedules and day-to-day project management tasks.
- Assist in developing project specifications and cost estimates.
- Liaise with other departments and sub-consultants in coordinating technical aspects of the work under the direction of a Senior Engineer/Senior Project Manager.
- Manage project teams of designers and technicians.
- Participate in the training activities and provide technical training for other members of the team.
- Participate in the preparation of the Land Development, as well as Municipal, and Transit proposals.
- Continuously grow professional skills and knowledge through training sessions, seminars, workshops, and involvement in professional associations to stay updated on the latest trends, software, and technology.
- Managing other related assignments within the scope of the Civil practice area.
The qualifications you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and 6 or more years of relevant experience in land development projects.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Strong knowledge of industry-relevant software (AutoCAD and Civil3D, InfoWorks, Visual OTTHYMO, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM).
- Strong knowledge of land development engineering principles, design standards, and Jurisdictional Design Guidelines.
- Strategic and process-oriented, prefers to operate in a fast and dynamic environment.
- Team player and able to work independently with little oversight.
- Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment, working towards common goals and objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to go above and beyond, effectively multitask, and capable of handling changing priorities within a demanding deadline-orientated environment.
- Self-motivation to continuously learn while completing assigned work tasks.
