IT & Digital are part of the Professional Services group that support and work in partnership with all areas of Manchester Metropolitan University. We’re here to help all our colleague’s deliver innovative and effective solutions to enhance the university.
Over the past 200 years Manchester Met has created a rich legacy as a forward-thinking provider of education and research. With the university being future focused, IT&D are at the core of Manchester Met’s strategy and delivery roadmap as it invests in our campus, the digital infrastructure, and the overall student experience.
This 2 Year Fixed Term Project Management role will help lead, oversee, and ensure successful delivery of multiple projects from any of our portfolios. Our projects span all or part of the university’s key initiatives as part of the overall strategy. This could be working with our infrastructure teams on the installation of new technology for our flexible learning environments, to how we plan and deliver the IT requirements of our new library building or working with our professional services teams to build software to help make the lives of our students better – our list of exciting and engaging projects is growing. Note, there are 2x positions available for a fixed term length of 2 years.
Along with providing excellent project governance, you’ll use your skillset to support and mentor our current teams to help them focus on the priorities to deliver projects to the highest possible standard.
Encourage, facilitate, and enable transparency in our approach. Coach and mentor team members and others to apply the most appropriate project management tools and techniques and build great relationships with our wider team and stakeholders.
As a Project Manager, you’ll already be an expert in your field and be comfortable using multiple delivery techniques ranging from traditional / waterfall to agile delivery methods
You’ll have excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills, including the ability to influence across portfolios.
Have a proven track record of collaborative and transparent ways of working with stakeholders across all levels of an organisation
Experience of implementing change programmes
Excellent written & verbal communication skills, including the ability to bring the ‘tech speak’ to an appropriate level to aid stakeholder understanding
Proficient use of Office 365 applications including, word, excel, power point & project,
