About us
The Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces (MPICI) conducts cutting-edge research on colloids and interfaces, focusing on very small or thin structures with dimensions ranging from nanometers to micrometers. This position is part of the European Marie Curie Doctoral Training Network “ComeInCell: Condensates at Membrane Scaffolds – Integrated Systems as Synthetic Cell Compartments” with a coordination office at the MPICI.
The Department of Sustainable & Bio-inspired Materials (Director Prof. Dr. Silvia Vignolini) at the MPICI in Potsdam Science Park, Germany announces a position of a Project Manager (m/f/d) for the Marie Curie Doctoral Training Network ComeInCell (limited for a period of 4 years) coordinated by Dr. Rumiana Dimova.

Your tasks and qualifications

  • Manage the overall project lifecycle from initiation to completion.
  • Liaise between doctoral candidates, beneficiaries, associated partners, members of the External Advisory Board, stakeholders, and EU Project Officers,
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies,
  • Establish and oversee a recruitment, selection, and onboarding process of doctoral candidates,
  • Ensure compliance with Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) guidelines and reporting requirements,
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets,
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and training events,
  • Prepare and submit progress reports and deliverables through the EU Portal,
  • Manage financial and executive tasks in collaboration with the administrative unit of the host institution.
  • Contribute to the scientific work of the doctoral students hosted at the MPICI.

Qualifications

  • A degree in project management, business administration, or a related field, or a background in academia or research
  • Working experience in managing large-scale, multi-partner projects, preferably in a research setting
  • Experience with European Commission-funded projects and innovation programs is desirable
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills,
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail,
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team,
  • Proficiency in English (both spoken and written); knowledge of German is a plus.
