If you want to lead projects with the whole world as your field of work, this is the position for you.
In this role, you will lead our delivery projects, ranging from rebuilding tissue paper machines to entire mill deliveries. The work takes place in an international environment in close cooperation with our customers. You are the company’s face to the customer and an important part of how the end customer perceives our total delivery. The responsibility covers the entire period from contract to the mill being operational and the warranty period being completed.
The role of the main contract project manager involves also responsibility for internal coordination with other global functions within Valmet, which are part of the project delivery. It may also be relevant to participate in final negotiations in projects where you will later lead the project in question. Furthermore, you are responsible for the project’s finances and profit development, as well as ensuring that the customer is satisfied with both the project implementation and the final result, a well-functioning production facility. International travels are a natural part of the job.
Requirements:
To be successful in this position, you should have a technical degree, preferably a Master of Science in Engineering, or equivalent experience/education combined with at least 4-6 years of project management experience in the paper or process industry.
Personal qualities are of great importance. You should be an engaged, responsible, and goal-oriented person with good social skills and communication abilities, able to operate in a global multicultural environment. Negotiation situations are also a natural part of project work. You should find it easy to collaborate, both internally and externally, and you have good leadership qualities. We see it as a prerequisite for success in this role that you are stimulated by challenges and work with a result-oriented approach.
