Job Description

MISSION

We are seeking a Project Manager to join our growing Design Transportation team in our Ontario GTA offices.
Working closely with the Senior Director of Transportation, you will have the opportunity to use your technical and management abilities to lead, plan, design and tender various municipal transportation infrastructure projects in a dynamic team setting.
Our hybrid work model can accommodate flexible work hours and the position can be based out of any of our 6 Ontario offices: Toronto-Mississauga, Burlington, Bowmanville, Kitchener, Ottawa or London.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project delivery and team management including minimum 7 years in design experience with transportation and municipal infrastructure in Ontario
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.) and Member of Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO). PMP designation would be considered an asset
  • Experience with managing multi-discipline designs and construction projects
  • Ability to mentor staff to expand their technical knowledge
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil3D and/or Microstation/OpenRoads, Office 365 and MS Project
  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills in English
  • Valid ‘’G’’ class driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Responsibilities:

  • Manage transportation projects on local, collector and arterial roads for various municipal clients throughout Ontario, including schedules, budgets, cost control processes, quality control and work procedures
  • Design and contract preparation for urban/rural construction and reconstruction projects, including local and regional roads & highways, environmental assessments, watermains, storm and sanitary sewers, etc.
  • Supervision of the design of specific projects, including guidance of technical staff, client liaison, technical reviews of documents and design, preparation of project specifications, and resolving various engineering challenges
  • Liaise with government and regulatory/environmental authorities to guide projects through permit approval processes
  • Maintain existing business relationships and coordinate business development activities including identifying and pursuing potential marketing and new client opportunities
