AS A PROJECT MANAGER, YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage program planning, development and implementation requiring the technical and managerial integration of a range of resources to meet challenging customer and cost requirements;
  • Lead the development and delivery of programmes potentially made up of a number of projects, co-ordinate the activities of a number of teams including designers, sub-consultants, supply chain, media, press;
  • Formulate and implement plans and strategies in order to maximise programme margins;
  • Liaise with and manage sub consultant organisations such that the required resource is available to meet schedule requirements and that the suitable work specifications are drawn up;
  • Ensure education of managers and program personnel such that an understanding of health and safety commercial environmental and delivery risks is achieved;
  • Lead the development, management and capability of a large team of staff such that both development and capabilities are maximised;
  • Develop and manage strategic links and relationships with customers and other key stakeholders in order to identify new business opportunities and to fully understand their requirements and resolve issues and problems in a timely manner;
  • Monitor, plan and control all financial expenditure such that financial targets for profit and margin are fully met on projects and portfolios.
    Who we’re looking for

THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE ARE ESSENTIAL:

  • Commercial acumen in tendering / business proposals;
  • Experience in Construction industries in both Operational and Estimating capacities;
  • Proven knowledge in Profit & Loss;
  • Sound understanding of Risk Management & Assessment;
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate both verbally and in writing.;
  • Excellent IT skills required particularly around MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint;
  • Detailed knowledge of a relevant Utility sector gained either through direct experience of delivery and / or direct experience of sales / bidding activity;
  • Independent, experienced and competent in a range of standard and unusual engineering issues and/or problems. Requires significant experience in the commercial and technical business environment including project responsibility;
  • Strong understanding of the disciplines of project and programme management, demand management, and business engagement including best practice methodologies;
  • Exhibits authority and leadership, takes responsibility, is Independent and self-starting;
  • Demonstrates teamwork at the highest level, highly collaborative approach, among the first to volunteer to help others succeed;
  • Ability to engage and influence peers;
  • Highly customer and delivery focused meeting and exceeding customer expectations;

Responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE:

To lead with the successful procurement and delivery of 3rd Party Works and Capital Projects, this shall including taking tender documentation and providing the associated estimate to form a successful bid and then prior to handover of the project to the P.M. responsible for delivery.
To take on both challenging & new opportunities ensuring that target margins and adequate resources are in place at an early stage, ensuring our value is ‘sold’ to our customers.
Provide full compliance with the gated lifecycle in adherence to the BB group governance and to ensure all bids under their responsibility are governed through to delivery handover.
Deputise for the Contract Delivery Manager if required to do so.
