PROJECT MANAGER

Iqaluit, Nunavut
On behalf of our client, NCC Investment Group Inc., we are currently recruiting for a Project Manager in Iqaluit, Nunavut (remote work will also be considered). The Project Manager will manage all major development projects while working closely with the suppliers, subcontractors, consultants and site superintendents. The Project Manager is tasked with ensuring the successful execution of all major projects from initiation, planning, to delivery.
The successful candidate for this position will be a self-starter who takes initiative and does what work needs to be done. They will also possess the ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality.

The Project Manager is Responsible For:

  • Delivering allocated construction projects on time, to budget and to highest quality.
  • Managing the project from initiation, planning, cost sing-off, contractor selection, owner approvals, work on site, handover, and final accounts/project closure.
  • Managing and resolving any issues with project delivery or cost during the life of the project.
  • Ensuring project trams have all relevant and current information available to them to deliver successful projects.
  • Ensuring delivery of project in line with the approved design standard.
  • Ensuring highest standards of safety and quality are achieved through design and delivery.
  • Providing up-to-date project information on progress, ensuring clear project reporting is available at all times.
  • Identifying and managing project risk to ensure right first-time projects.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the client, consultants, and sub-contractors.
  • Coaching, managing, and developing junior staff on projects with the goal to elevate each team member to excel.

You and Your Experience:

  • 3+ years of construction experience is considered an asset.
  • You have P.Eng. designation and background in either civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering. An equivalent combination of technical training will also be considered.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills with ability to motive and empower others.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills – Inuktitut is an asset.
  • You are self-motivated with the ability to assume responsibility to interface with the project team and represent the company and in a professional manner.
  • You have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists.
  • You have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • You have a valid driver’s license.
