Summary:
This role is critical to the reputation that Ebco has built for delivering world-class quality manufacturing. You will be responsible for planning and project managing Ebco’s major opportunities which can range from $100,000 to $7,000,000 and include machining, fabrication and assembly.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years’ experience in metal machining and fabrication project managing and planning.
  • Hands-on experience in metal machining and fabrication is a strong asset (ie. welding, fitting, machining etc.)
  • Use of SolidWorks, DraftSight, or any other CAD Software is a strong asset.
  • Use of ERP software; Visual MFG, Job Boss, Microsoft Dynamics Sage, or equivalent
  • Microsoft office software: Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Highly skilled in blueprint interpretation
  • Understanding of GD&T symbols, weld symbols and specifications (these will be tested)
  • Understanding of metal machining and fabrication North American standards
  • Red Seal trade certification and/or B.Eng. EIT or P.Eng. and/or PMP designation is an asset.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English; second language is an asset.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Open, honest, reliable and solutions driven.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Project manage custom manufacturing projects from beginning to end including planning the manufacturing and inspection plans and closing out the job.
  • Prepare material take off from customer supplied drawings, and source pricing on material required.
  • Prepare pricing for sub-contractors required, and labour take off using Labour Standards for each work centre.
  • Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines for public and private sectors.
  • Collaborate with shop floor managers and estimators to prepare competitive bids.
  • Manage and monitor awarded projects to ensure that costs align with estimated cost.
  • Provide support for on-going projects including coordination, management of scope changes, negotiation, and close-out (including postmortems/lessons learned)
  • Interact with production and quality-assurance personnel to clarify any concerns that could increase estimated costs or job plans.
  • Build close client relationships and demonstrate strong results stemming from those relationships.
  • Work in a mixture of both office and job shop environment.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.
