The Populous London Studio is looking for a Project Manager to play a pivotal role in overseeing the and monitoring the commercial aspects necessary for the successful delivery of architectural projects. Your primary focus will be on managing project workplans, budgets, resources, and schedules to ensure project objectives are met within specified timelines and financial parameters. The Project Managers focus will be within RIBA Stages Stage 0-4.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
  • Proven experience in project management roles, preferably within the architecture or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools to support effective project planning, execution, and monitoring. Deltek users would be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project workplans, schedules, and budgets: Collaborate with stakeholders to establish clear project objectives, timelines, and financial parameters. Develop detailed workplans, schedules, and budgets that align with project requirements and ensure efficient re-source allocation.
  • Manage project resources effectively: Working alongside the resourcing manager, oversee project resources, including personnel, finances, and materials, to support project objectives and timelines. Allocate resources appropriately, monitor resource utilisation, and identify opportunities to optimise resource efficiency.
  • Track project performance metrics: Monitor project progress against milestones, budget expenditures, and resource utilisation metrics. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas requiring attention.
  • Monitor project budgets and resources for design activities: Track project budgets and resources allocated for design activities, ensuring adherence to financial targets and efficient utilisation of resources. Implement measures to address budget overruns or resource shortages proactively.
  • Manage the negotiations and finalisation of contracts with client teams.

  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget: Evaluate proposed changes to project scope, schedule, and budget, assessing their impact on project objectives and outcomes. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations and maintain project alignment throughout the change management process.
  • Review consultant team invoices and approve for payment: Review consultant team invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements. Approve invoices for payment in a timely manner, maintaining transparency and accountability in financial transactions.
  • Managing internal and external audits and management reviews, collating data and ensuring all resulting actions are addressed.
