QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree (Baccalaureate) in engineering or other relevant field
  • Master’s degree in project management or certification in PMP project management (an asset)
  • 5-8 years of professional experience in project management or continuous improvement with tangible and demonstrated success
  • Experience in optics or/and knowledge of the market, commercial (an asset)
  • Experience developing executive level presentations
  • Ability to communicate, work adapt to different audience and stakeholders (management, operator, operation, IT, technical group, customer service/sales etc)
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies; (developing and monitoring the baseline of content, schedule, budget, resources, communication, procurement, risk quality management) Experience in creating project plans and strategic road map
  • Strives in a fast pace and changing environment
  • Self-driven, ability to take leadership and ownership
  • English written and spoken mandatory, French is an asset
  • May be called upon to travel on different shifts
  • Available for occasional travel in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a project manager for various mandates affecting several spheres of the organization;
  • Perform needs analysis, coordinate the implementation of actions and perform post-implementation follow-ups
  • Leads end-to-end project management of initiatives, tracking projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
  • Leads day-to-day management of initiatives including but not limited to development, operationalization, exception management, issue resolution, organizational feasibility checks, and results tracking
  • Development and monitoring of the schedule, budget, quality management plan, human resources, communication plan, risk management plan
  • Establish and publish the project portfolio management KPI dashboard and update all presentations;
  • Development of tools and methodology aimed at best management practices
  • Ensure the management of projects for the continuous improvement of operational processes in order to promote the application of best management practices and increase the efficiency of operations
  • Participate in the improvement of business processes in order to maximize performance in terms of productivity, efficiency, simplification of processes, quality and cost reduction and thus improve overall performance
  • Perform data collection and analysis to identify and quantify opportunities for improvement or cost reduction
  • As part of projects, participate in the constant improvement of productivity levels, reduction of scrap rates, production times, simplification of processes and annual production costs
  • Provide support and structure to other departments as part of their project management and continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure that Essilor’s Health, Safety and Environment policies are reinforced and are an integral part of the business process improvement process
