Overview:
Geosyntec is growing in Europe, and we have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Project (PM) or Senior (Sr PM) Due Diligence Consultant to join our Environmental Management Practice. We are looking for someone who has an enthusiasm for the environmental, sustainability, and health & safety elements of technical due diligence projects and regulatory compliance work. The ideal candidate for this position will have a solid foundation in the site investigation & remediation sector, with the ability to manage projects for the contaminated land practice when required. You will be supporting national and international clients across a wide range of sectors including the energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, food and beverage, automation and healthcare industries, as well as the mergers, acquisitions and divestments financial sector.
The successful candidate could be based near one of our offices in Manchester, Bristol or Delph, however we will also be able to consider fully remote working for candidates based in or close to Greater London.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Aspects of the role will include providing outstanding service to clients, leading to sole source new work opportunities and expanded relationships. Key to this will be the ability to develop and maintain close personal relationships with existing and prospective clients;
  • You will lead selected proposal preparation efforts, contribute to proposal go/no go decisions, take ownership in proposal success, and contribute to winning strategies and ideas. As appropriate, communicate with client prior to and during proposal process to identify client needs and desires;
  • Assemble project teams, assign individual responsibilities, monitor budgets against plans and procure necessary resources. Manage all work on assigned projects to meet contract requirements, appropriate regulations, regulatory compliance and/or enforcement requirements, and industry best practice;
  • Act as a Project Director, when designated, to help the Project Manager(s) succeed by assisting with technical and business components, provide oversight for the project, including achieving scope, schedule, budget, and health and safety requirements as well as assuming project-specific implementation of the company Risk Management Plan and the Quality Management Plan;
  • Identify and develop new technical competencies to support market/practice diversification especially in the ESG sphere;
  • Actively support and participate in the company health and safety program by enforcing health and safety standards, regulations and procedures; and
  • Actively participate in professional societies, conferences, and meetings that will increase the visibility of the firm to potential clients and recruits. Make contributions to the profession that will result in individual recognition as an industry leader.
  • Management and delivery of site investigation & remediation projects as and when required.

Training:
This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.

Education and Licensure:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, earth science (geology or hydrology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in a similar field of study (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience in the contaminated land sector, including experience in the EHS or due diligence assessments environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Detailed EHS regulatory knowledge. (desirable)
  • Project experience involving environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance, and due diligence, historical research, and environmental, health and safety assessment. (required)
  • Experience working on demanding, sophisticated, and legally sensitive projects. (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
