Description:

SOME KEY INFORMATION

  • Fixed Term Contract for a period of two years from start date.
  • Full time - 37 hours per week.
  • £34,834 - £39,186 per annum.
  • 30 days annual leave.
    What will I be doing?
We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that.
You’ll be project managing the replacement of a number of small-scale sewage treatment plants which serve rural homes, reducing phosphate pollution. We’ll be exploring other ways of doing this – but the plant replacement will be our priority.
You’ll be the one making it happen.
Whether it’s managing specialist contractors, making sure a payment goes through on time, signing off the work that’s taking place or explaining the project to residents, you’ll be the one bringing it all together.
Quality is important to us, and we’ll give you all the resources we can to help you succeed – but you’ll be given the freedom to do things your way.
And when it’s done, we’re hoping you’ll feel the sense of pride and satisfaction that comes with playing a key role in a project that benefits both us and our community.
This is a hybrid role with some flexibility around when and where you work – but as you can imagine, it will involve being on-site the majority of the time.
Please note – this is a fixed-term contract role for 2 years.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be.

You’ll need project management experience in the construction sector. Your experience could come from a range of settings, including:

  • Sewage treatment and underground drainage
  • Groundworks
  • Water safety works

We’re pretty flexible.
What matters is that your able to get to grips with new information and projects quickly and build relationships with everyone involved.
We’re proud to be here for the people of Somerset. And that means everyone in Somerset. An important part of this is ensuring that we are as diverse and inclusive as the people and communities we serve.
We welcome applications from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences to enrich our team. You can always contact the hiring manager for a chat if there’s anything you want to talk about before you apply.
