PROJECT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a Project Management Specialist for a 12-month engagement in Richmond, BC

PROJECT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST MANDATORY SKILLS

  • 10+ years of project management experience managing multiple large technology infrastructure projects that span one or multiple business units, including agile scrum teams
  • Extensive understanding of agile, hybrid, and waterfall project and program management principles, methods, and techniques
  • Technical skills including an understanding of the MS Azure costing model is an asset.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure is an asset. and experience with large scale IT migrations is an asse
  • Experience working with procurement processes and managing external vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Manage all aspects of one or multiple infrastructure projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives across various business units.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership to the project team by building, coaching, and motivating team members to meet project goals and milestones.
  • Project Lifecycle Ownership: Own the full project lifecycle from initiation to deployment for one or more major initiatives simultaneously.
  • Comprehensive Project Management: Develop and manage all project aspects, comprising planning, vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, issues, and day-to-day activities, including:
  • Setting and continually managing project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.
  • Preparing estimates and detailed project plans for all phases.
  • Managing project scope and changes.
  • Procuring adequate resources to achieve project objectives within planned timeframes.
  • Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations to various audiences, including project teams, sponsors, senior executive management, and key stakeholders.
  • Reporting on project success criteria results, metrics, test, and deployment management activities.
  • Managing ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution.
  • Defining Statements of Work and Specifications for requested goods and services.
  • Monitoring, tracking, and controlling outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
  • Defining success criteria and disseminating them to involved parties throughout the project and program lifecycle.
  • Participating in feasibility studies, vendor selections, and proposals for evaluation by appropriate stakeholders.
