POSITION OVERVIEW:

An experienced Senior Project Manager is sought to lead and manage welding and industrial projects from initial quotation through to successful project completion. This role demands a hands-on professional with a strong foundation in manufacturing or industrial environments, as well as expertise in managing teams and technical operations associated with welding, rig assembly, tanks, vessels, or other heavy industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, results-focused, and adept at overcoming challenges to ensure projects are completed efficiently with minimal disruptions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Shop Floor and Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in welding, rig assembly, or fabrication of tanks, vessels, or other industrial equipment.
• Project Management Skills: Proven track record of developing schedules, controlling budgets, and managing teams.
• Proactive Problem-Solving: Skilled at troubleshooting delays and logistical challenges to maintain smooth operations.
• Strong Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with clients, suppliers, and team members.
• Leadership and Accountability: Ability to inspire teams, take ownership, and deliver results under pressure.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with welding safety, heavy equipment operations, and quality control standards.
• Certifications (Preferred): PMP (Project Management Professional), CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), or similar industry certifications.
• Software Proficiency: Competency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, ERP systems).

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years in project management within a manufacturing or industrial environment, particularly in welding or fabrication projects.
• Hands-on experience as a welder, supervisor, or fabricator, with leadership experience in managing complex projects.
• Adaptability to fast-paced environments, requiring quick decision-making.
• Experience in environments where project completion takes priority over strict processes.

• Prepare and Quote RFQs: Develop accurate and competitive project quotations that cover labor, materials, and timelines.
• Project Planning and Execution: Design and implement project plans, balancing schedules, budgets, and resource needs.
• Workforce Management: Lead welders, skilled labor, and other team members, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines.
• Procurement Coordination: Manage materials and equipment procurement, fostering vendor relationships and addressing potential delivery issues.
• Technical Supervision: Oversee welding operations, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the liaison between clients, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring project milestones are met.
• Risk Management and Problem Solving: Identify project risks and obstacles, implementing corrective actions promptly.
• Performance Reporting: Track and report on project progress, including financials and quality assessments.
• Continuous Improvement: Focus on efficiency and optimization in workflows and resource utilization.
• Project Closure: Complete all project handovers, release resources, and conduct post-project reviews for continuous improvement.
