Context:
Under the supervision and with the support of the Director, Rolling Stock Refurbishment, the Project Manager will ensure overall project management by coordinating teams, overseeing budget and schedule, while maintaining effective communication with the customer.
Missions/Main Duties:
- Ensure delivery of contract requirements by coordinating engineering and procurement team requests;
- Manage project budget and report performance to executive team;
- Monitor and update project timeline and progress metrics;
- Oversee materials deliveries, including progress on warranty issues;
- Coordinate production tasks with onsite representative and service providers;
- Prepare project correspondence and reporting with client;
- Maintain risk register;
- Administer contract claims and out of scope works;
- Prepare proposals for contract change orders.
Profile/Skills:
Education: Completion of a degree in applied science, engineering, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
Years of experience: Minimum of five (5) years project management experience related to the design, manufacture, and commissioning of heavy-duty vehicles, preferably in the rail industry.
TECHNICAL AND SOFT SKILLS:
- Aptitude for coordinating activities without complex systems, and developing tools to accomplish the necessary objectives;
- Implement collaborative approach with internal and external members to foster team building and strategic growth;
- Effectively coordinate activities of team members remotely;
- Ability to work with various business partners, from individual consultants to multinational enterprises;
- Available to travel approximately 25% of the time;
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English*
