Project Manager Tech 2

Nextant is looking for a driven Project Manager Tech 2 to join our client team. The main function of a R&D Project Manager is to oversee the application of project management methodology during all phases of the project cycle, with responsibilities including project design, scope management, cost control, quality and performance reporting. This will include managing the Hardware and Software Development of higher complex product in during its research and development (R&D) phase.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2-4 overall years of experience in the field.
• Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering degree
• Previous experience at MSFT or at company with similar scale
• Past work experience with the US government
• Experience with test and measurement
• Previous PM experience
• 2-4 years experience with ADO
• 2-4 years experience with hardware, firmware or software project management
• 2-4 years experience/ understanding of test and measurement equipment.
• 2-4 years of HW product development experience
• Experience with Microsoft tools (Powerpoint, word, excel, project)
• Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment

• Develops, tracks and manages project budget, project plans, timelines and scope
• Manage project resources including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching and advising
• Partner closely with other members of functional project teams to define business requirements, system architecture and engineering development plans
• Facilitate cross functional teams communication within multiple layers of computing system
• Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized
