SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary: $119,380.00 – $139,657.00/Year
Hours of work:35 hours per week
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Union: Non-union
QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering, or Urban Planning, from an accredited university, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience in transportation planning and engineering.
- Minimum five years of experience in a transportation planning and/or engineering field.
- A Professional Engineer (or equivalent) or Registered Professional Planner (or equivalent).
- Project Management Professional designation is considered an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of transportation planning principles, concepts, practices, methods and legislation in one or more fields (e.g. traffic operations, travel demand forecasting, active transportation, street design, environmental assessments, policy, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and manage complex problems, utilizing innovative solutions where warranted.
- Strong project and time management skills to meet program objectives and tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work within a team environment and collaborate with others to achieve project objectives.
- Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications and knowledge of software relevant to technical specialty.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reports and internal communications.
- Knowledge of, and demonstrated ability in, the City’s core competencies and relevant functional competencies.
- Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
Responsibilities:
The Project Manager, Transportation delivers projects which creates and enhances the multi-modal transportation choices of our citizens. This includes working with partner departments to plan and identify future transportation infrastructure (streets, sidewalks, cycle tracks), conducting environmental assessments and feasibility studies to begin designing this new infrastructure, and investigating and incorporating new transportation innovations into the overall system. The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing and advising on transportation analysis and/or design for both City-led and third-party led projects, creating new and assessing existing transportation policies, and conducting public engagement, communication and education activities to empower citizens to choose their preferred mode of transportation.
