Description:

WARDELL ARMSTRONG LLP IS CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR A PROJECT MANAGER FOR VARIOUS LARGE SCALE MULTI-DISCIPLINARY PROJECTS ACROSS A WIDE RANGE OF SECTORS INCLUDING: MINERAL EXPLORATION, RAIL (HS2), WIND/SOLAR AND CONSTRUCTION THROUGHOUT UK AND INTERNATIONALLY.

The Project Manager will work within the Commercial and Project Management Team based in our Stoke office, assisting our lead Project Managers in the commercial and management of projects. You will be involved with all aspects of the project lifecycle from tender to completion, inputting into pricing and seeking to minimise the costs of a project/ enhance value for money whilst achieving the required standards and quality in accordance with contract and Client’s expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience in a project management role within the development sector and relevant degree
  • A driving license and own vehicle;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office;
  • Demonstrable experience of understanding and/or administering common forms of construction contract conditions particularly NEC;
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety considerations and legislation.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Projects.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Working towards a relevant qualification such as APM, CEng, NECReg or other relevant qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Producing project programmes and disseminating the required information to the Project Manager;
  • Dealing with day-to-day queries from the site team and ensuring they are adhering to the scope and specifications of the project;
  • Reporting to the Project Manager and Technical Director on progress against programme and budget;
  • Undertaking the efficient and effective management and issuing of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence;
  • Ensuring contractual and commercial risks and opportunities are identified to the Contract Leader at pricing stage;
  • Preparation and agreement of applications for payment or the assessment & preparation of payment certificates;
  • Maintaining registers of variations, delay, extension times and claims;
  • Assist in change management and cost control;
  • Assist with preparation of monthly progress valuations and claims for work completed;
  • Assist in the production of monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Leader Reports
  • Ensure all health, safety and environmental risk situations are brought to the attention of Contract Leader / Project Manager.
  • Carrying out regular site visits to inspect quality of work and compliance with the plan (where required);
  • Contribute to securing opportunities and repeat clients due do the exceptional service delivered.
