Description:
Tactical Responsibility
1. Coordinate/lead multiple projects of med-high complexity, multiple sub-projects, and/or cross location
2. Lead and present project updates for management reviews, provide written updates, and status reports
3. Drives risk management process
4. Drives schedule performance to meet commitment dates
5. Plans, reviews, and improves project cost
6. Drives total cost of ownership processes
7. Manages across business and departments outside of specific functional area to break down barriers that may prevent project success
Strategic Responsibility
1. Presents and represents project status to customer and Woodward managers
2. Participates in enterprise trade-offs between projects
3. Provide mentoring and consultation to lower level project managers
4. Participate in strategic planning/profit planning processes
5. Accountable for scope change management: responsible to orchestrate with the accountable leaders and team to be responsive to customers, project schedule, and deliverables
6. Evaluate and implement continuous improvement. May include authoring documents and standards
7.Coordinates project activity with appropriate leaders, team members, and customers
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
1. Good knowledge of project management tools (specifically MS Project, Work Breakdown Structure).
2. Proficient understanding of Woodward’s Key business processes and metrics
- In Sourcing:
- Good knowledge and demonstrated execution of the part transition process
- Good knowledge of strategic sourcing principles, supplier relationship management, and commercial management
- Knowledge and experience with core global sourcing business processes and systems
- In Quality:
- Proficient knowledge or education in Quality Management Systems, compliance standards, and relevant legal entities according to different international standards
- In Operations:
- Strong knowledge in applicable manufacturing environment (e.g. assembly/test, mechanical manufacturing or electronics and cabinet manufacturing)
- Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated execution of manufacturing transition processes
- In Sales:
- Proficient knowledge or education in management of complex customer projects according to different international standards
- Effective leadership skills including the building of effective teams, an ability to manage conflict, the effective setting of priorities in the team, and an ability to clearly define roles, responsibilities, and objectives
- Moderate and lead project and drive technical decisions.
- Ability to prepare technical, strategic information, offer recommendations and solutions, including presentations and written reports for management decisions
- Effective strategic, long term and planning thought processes
