Description:
The University of Luxembourg (UNILU) is seeking to appoint within its Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) a Project Officer - Archivist.
Reporting to the Team Leader of the FDEF’s Compliance and Quality Unit (CQU), the jobholder will support the Faculty and its Departments with the selection, preservation, transfer, and destruction of their physical and digital archives in accordance with the applicable rules.
QUALIFICATIONS…
- Bachelor’s Degree in Archive Studies and/or Record Management
- Excellent understanding of (paper and digital) archival and electronic document management standards
- In-depth understanding of the norms regarding the protection of personal data (i.e., GDPR)
- Operational skills, proficiency in office tools, archival management software
- Very good knowledge in English and French, Luxembourgish and/or German would be considered as an advantage
- Ability to adapt to a multicultural and multilingual environment

Responsibilities:
- Evaluate records and archives for preservation, retention, or destruction
- Sort and distribute physical archives in boxes appropriate to their disposition; e.g. transfer, preservation, or destruction
- Ensure the transfer of the FDEF’s archives to ANLux and/or to the faculty’s archive room in cooperation with the Logistic Supervisor
- Ensure the destruction of the archives under the supervision of the CQU’s Team Leader and in cooperation with the Logistic Supervisor, complete and submit the relevant form to ANLux
- Develop and update the UNILU-FDEF’s classification scheme (“tableau de tri/plan de classement”) in cooperation with the archive producers
- Develop and update inventory of records and archives
- Raise the awareness of FDEF’s staff members for archiving
- Advise on the ongoing archiving and identify actions to implement for i.e., the digitization and the digital archiving
