Description:
When you go for a walk, do you notice when there’s an arrow pointing in the wrong direction? When it’s not clear how to pay for parking? When there’s an apostrophe missing on the poster? If you’re that person, and you love the Lake District, then this is the job for you.
If you’re still reading this then you may have already noticed that the National Trust’s current signage, waymarking and interpretation is looking a bit tired across many of our outdoor locations in the Lakes. As Project Officer, working with teams across the National Park, you’ll be the one to fix it.
Responsibilities:
What you’ll be doing:By the end of your two-year contract, you will have delivered improved site signage making it easier for visitors to find their way, and found new ways for us to fundraise and talk about our charitable cause. This includes:
- Full outdoor signage audit completed of the National Trust outdoor sites within the project scope
- Engagement with stakeholders for management and installation of safety signage, focussing on Cathedral Quarry and Windermere lakeshore
- Delivery and installation of new signage according to National Trust brand guidelines
- Correct planning permissions in place
- Development and implementation of a plan to manage signage standards into the future
- Through well-designed fundraising messaging, increased donations and awareness of the work of the National Trust in the Lake District
- You will be responsible for the planning, coordination, delivery and reporting throughout the life of this projec
You’ll be doing this at some of the most iconic National Trust sites in the Lake District – Tarn Hows, Cathedral Quarry, Windermere lakeshore, Langdale and Ullswater Valleys to name just a few.
