THE OPPORTUNITIES
We are currently seeking two agile Project Officers to join the section and contribute to the preparation, coordination and delivery of election planning and governance materials for the AEC and EIAT.
Project Officer – Engagement
The purpose of the role is to assist the Assistant Director with the coordination of the AEC’s efforts to counter and respond to matters that may compromise the integrity of Australia’s federal election systems and processes.
Additionally, you will collaborate with a multiagency group and provide secretariat services to the EIAT and the EIAT Board. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate engagement and promote collaboration with the DDU and the EIAT, as well as provide professional, accurate and timely assistance to the Assistant Director, including to meet the reporting obligations of the DDU.
Project Officer – Online Platform Strategy
The purpose of the role is to assist the Assistant Director in facilitating the direct relationships of the AEC and EIAT with external stakeholders including online media platforms, as they relate to electoral content online.
Additionally, you will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including industry representatives, to collectively understand and respond to threats to electoral integrity in the online environment. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate engagement and promote collaboration with the AEC and the EIAT, as well as provide policy analysis and examine trends that potentially impact the integrity of electoral processes, including via online media platforms.
To excel you’ll have:
- Demonstrated ability to support productive engagement with internal and external stakeholders and manage relationships.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, and experience preparing reports and briefing papers for senior executives.
- Strong analytical abilities, maintaining a professional and logical approach under pressure and in the face of competing priorities.
- Experience working within inter-governmental projects or with online media platforms.
- The ability to gain knowledge and maintain awareness of Australian and international electoral practices and security environment.
