Description:
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Project Planner or Scheduler in civil or construction projects.
- Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of civil construction processes and phases (earthworks, concrete, structural, MEP, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of local construction codes, regulations, and safety standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification.
- Experience with project cost estimation and budget management.
- Familiarity with advanced scheduling techniques, such as Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Experience working with large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, buildings).

Responsibilities:
- Project Scheduling & Planning:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules for civil engineering projects, including construction, infrastructure, and land development projects.
- Work closely with the project manager and team to define project objectives, scope, and milestones.
- Create detailed timelines, sequencing, and critical path analysis to ensure on-time project delivery.
- Resource Allocation & Management:
- Plan and allocate resources (labor, materials, equipment) effectively to avoid project delays.
- Track and ensure optimal use of resources throughout the project’s lifecycle.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Assist in estimating the cost of construction activities and create budget forecasts.
- Monitor project expenses against the budget and suggest corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure that projects are executed within the approved budget.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks in the project schedule or budget, such as delays, shortages, or regulatory issues, and work on mitigating strategies.
- Update risk assessments regularly and work with the project team to adjust plans as needed.
- Monitoring Progress & Reporting:
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly project progress to ensure adherence to the established schedule.
- Provide accurate progress reports to project managers and stakeholders, highlighting any issues or delays.
- Implement corrective actions when the project is behind schedule or deviating from the plan.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, contractors, and other project team members to ensure proper alignment and execution of the project plan.
- Organize and participate in project meetings to review progress, resolve issues, and discuss upcoming tasks.
- Ensure that all project plans and updates are well-communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain and organize project documentation, including schedules, contracts, and reports.
- Ensure that all activities and timelines comply with legal, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Review project drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with schedule and project goals.
- Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor the quality of work to ensure it aligns with project specifications.
- Identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement in the planning process and recommend solutions.
- Ensure the team adheres to industry standards and best practices in project management.
