Description:

When you’re not reviewing the finer details of our Delivery Partners’ Primavera programmes and their supporting narratives or working with internal Project Managers to model compensation events and forecasting value and spend curves with our Commercial team, you’ll be meeting with our client’s planning team to ensure congruence of programme plans and sequencing approaches or meeting Original Equipment Manufacturers to agree lead in times for new assets based on emergent technology.
You will be embedded in a dedicated compact Programme Management Office consisting of risk manager, document controllers/data managers and HSEQ specialists, within a wider team of Project and Commercial Managers; dedicated to delivering a world class digital advertising network deployed within a high compliance safety critical rail environment.
What you’ll be doing…
• Successfully overseeing the planning component of the safe, timely and profitable delivery of a multidisciplinary portfolio of discrete advertising projects in a high compliance safety critical rail environment utilising the Primavera P6 Planning tool. The role will involve integrating JCDecaux overarching delivery programmes with those of our Delivery Partners and Original Equipment Manufacturers.• You will be responsible for the planning aspects of the overall delivery, control, and contract execution. Ensuring consistency with the contractual requirements, company strategy, client requirements and standards, commitments, goals, and policies of all stakeholders.• Key responsibilities Generallyo Developing comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6, detailing all phases from initiation to closeout.o Transposing project scope and constraints into fully developed delivery programmes, outlining all objectives, and deliverables (including governance, design, assurance, CDM deliverables, payment mechanisms, stakeholder dependencies, time risk allowance, resource, cost and the like) within NEC 4 Option A contract compliant programmes.o Establishing baseline schedules and ensure all project activities, milestones, and dependencies are accurately represented.o Updating the programmes: Physical progress will be reported and recorded (updated) on the Accepted Programme activities by the Contractor each Employer reporting period using Physical % Complete (not duration or schedule) and activity remaining duration as the basis for “progress status reporting”.o Demonstrating the effects of any compensation events or early warnings on existing or additional activities and include the changes in time, resource and cost within the programme.o Conducting schedule reviews and validations to ensure feasibility and alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.o Implementing schedule management procedures to maintain consistent tracking and updating processes• Resourcingo Developing resource-loaded schedules, incorporating labour, materials, and equipment requirements.o Coordinating with project teams to allocate resources efficiently and ensure their availability when needed.o Performing resource levelling to avoid over-allocation and ensure optimal resource utilization throughout the project lifecycle.o Monitoring and adjust resource allocations based on project progress and changing priorities.• Progress Monitoring and Reportingo Continuously tracking project progress, updating schedules to reflect actual performance against the plan.o Utilising Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to assess project performance and forecast completion dates.o Preparing and distributing regular progress reports to project stakeholders and senior management, including S-curves, variance analyses, and performance metrics.o Conducting schedule impact analysis for changes, delays, or disruptions, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate schedule deviations.• Risk and Issue Managemento With the risk manager, Identifying, assess, and document risks and issues that could impact the project schedule.o With the Project Manager, Developing and implement risk mitigation plans and contingency strategies to address potential schedule threats.o Monitoring and update the risk register, ensuring all identified risks are tracked and managed throughout the project.o Collaborating with project teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and address issues promptly.• Stakeholder Collaborationo Engaging with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather inputs and ensure accurate schedule development.o Facilitating schedule review meetings and workshops to discuss progress, updates, and potential changes.o Ensuring transparent and effective communication of scheduling information to all project participants.o Fostering a collaborative environment where stakeholders are encouraged to contribute to schedule planning and problem-solving.• Compliance and Standardso Ensure all planning and scheduling activities adhere to company policies, Client Standards, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.o Implementing and maintain scheduling best practices, ensuring consistency and accuracy in schedule management.o Complying with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental requirements, including the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).o Conducting regular schedule audits and reviews to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards.• Continuous Improvemento Reviewing and refine planning and scheduling processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.o Staying current with industry trends, advancements in project planning tools, and scheduling techniques.o Providing training and mentorship to project teams on Primavera P6 and scheduling best practices.o Sharing knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned with the wider project management community to drive continuous improvement.
A little bit about you…
You willo Be suitably qualified in engineering, project management or planning disciplineo be experienced in performing the planning role on rail focused multi-disciplinary design & or engineering teams values £6-16m using the Primavera planning toolo be very familiar with rail design assurance, design, engineering safety principles and a good grasp of risk management approaches and techniqueso be overtly familiar with managing technical compliance in the rail environmento have delivered the planning role successfully within an NEC 3/4 Option A type environment using a digital contract administration system such as A-Site of EBo have expert knowledge of planning, cost and resource planning within the Primavera (P6) environment, knowledge of Pertmaster and Acumen Fuse highly desirable.o can remain outcome rather than process focused in a highly bureaucratized engineering environment.o have a good understanding of CDM Regulations and operational processes and health and safety documentation (CCP’s, RAMS etc.)
