Job Description:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional Project Quality Engineer (PQE) with automotive experience to join a leading company producing world class, top end electronic products. The PQE will be responsible for planning and delivering the quality aspects of new product developments and introductions to manufacturing, and engineering changes. A strong focus on IATF16949 and APQP compliance including PPAP and other core tools is required.
This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and manage quality processes. The PQE will lead the quality planning, risk assessment, and problem-solving activities to ensure products meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the product development team to define and document project and product quality requirements.
  • Develop project and product quality plans and communicate the requirements to internal teams and flow down to suppliers.
  • Lead and manage project and product quality assurance and quality control including APQP requirements from the requirements capture during the design phase through to design and production validation test and manufacturing phases.
  • Lead and manage the PPAP process including generating PPAP submissions for customers, and flow down PPAP requirements to suppliers.
  • Review and approve PPAP documentation, including but not limited to FMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Conduct risk assessments using tools such as FMEA to identify potential failure modes and their effects on the product and process.
  • Support the transition from development to production, ensuring that quality standards are maintained.
  • Work with internal teams and suppliers to improve process and ways of working and ultimately the quality of products to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • As part of the Quality Team introduce process and ways of working improvements into the company management system(s).
  • Supplier Audits and Monitoring.
  • Root cause analysis and closure of internal and external non-conformances ( using 8D & 5 why methodologies).
  • Prepare reports and documentations on non-conformances and corrective measures.
  • Logging internal corrective actions and action plans.
  • Manage administration of customer portals such as GM Supply Power, Covisint, FCA Esupplier, etc.
  • Management of warranty claims and RMAs.
  • Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.
