Description:
RPS is seeking applications for the position of Senior Project Engineer with openings in our Dublin Office. We are seeking experienced engineers to support and deliver existing and new high-profile projects. You will be central to the flooding & drainage team, assisting in the delivery of projects for key public and private sector clients in Ireland and further afield.
KEY SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES:
- Ability to undertake a key technical role responsible for full hydraulic model output delivery.
- In addition to a high level of competency in Infoworks ICM experience with FloodModeller, Estry, TuFlow, HEC-RAS 1D/2D or similar models would be beneficial.
- A detailed understanding of Flood Risk Management Methods, Nature-based Solutions and wider catchment, river and drainage processes.
- Experience in providing specialist technical knowledge and advice on hydraulic modelling issues to project team members.
- Have a strong knowledge and experience of applying thorough QA principles in hydraulic modelling to ensure results are fit for delivery.
- Ability to apply hydraulic modelling outputs to define and design civil engineering infrastructural elements to meet project objectives.
- Working experience of economic appraisal of projects and plans, using CBA and MCA techniques would be beneficial
- Desire to contribute to the technical development of the team and our application of best-practice principles and concepts to engineer innovative solutions for clients.
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects collaboratively with engineering, planning and environmental professionals
- Aptitude to work independently to support effective and timely delivery of projects
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with clients, suppliers and other RPS staff.
- Able to approach all your tasks in a diligent, professional and organised manner;
- Experience in the use of civil engineering design packages e.g., CAD, Civil 3D.
- Knowledge and experience in the use GIS software in QGIS or Arc.
- Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications; MS Office (MS Word and MS Excel
Responsibilities:
- Report to Line Manager / Business Unit Leader.
- Work as part of an integrated team to deliver high quality engineering services for our clients. You may be expected to work on delivery of multiple projects concurrently.
- Provide technical input to our cross sector multidisciplinary internal project teams supporting the delivery of transportation, commercial/residential development and environmental infrastructure projects.
- Prepare technical reports and effectively communicate outputs to our clients.
- Further develop and broaden the technical capacity of the flooding and drainage team.
