Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating close with the colleagues in our Climbing, Infrastructure and Building teams in the delivery of special solution projects providing hand calculations or solutions with the use of RSTAB
  • Prepare and present proposals to customers facilitating specialist technical discussions
  • Support regional preparation of offers with technical advice and guidance on nonstandard system applications
  • Create preliminary calculations for project support in the tender and offer phase & prepare cost calculation of system and engineering support
  • Prepare detailed structural calculations, “Proof of Stability” design charts & worksheets according to CSA standards
  • Work with third party Engineers and local building control as required to evaluate the system designs and static proofs
  • Work closely with design professionals (e.g., internal & external stamping engineers) to ensure the designs meet national and local standards (e.g., CSA, OHSA, and National and Provincial Building Codes)
  • Design custom component as required and produce fabrication drawings

Core Fuctions

  • Review and approval of structural design drawings and calculations perpetrated by others
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers
  • Providing resolution for technical or cost control problems
  • Design in accordance with CSA standards for steel products
  • Converting product limitations and design tables from European to Canadian standards
  • Check and approve schemes within the limits of skills and capability
  • Conduct On-site project meetings with customer and Technical Sales Consultant with relevant site visits when necessary
  • Identify technical issues proactively to eliminate or mitigate design risks
  • Working close with the Climbing, Infrastructure and Building teams and the Engineering Managers to ensure self-sufficiency for PERI Canada.
  • Representing the Climbing, Infrastructure and Building teams to collaborate with and support other functions
  • Communication of all technical information to the Technical Offices and other departments
  • Create and maintain engineering-related documents
  • Other related duties as assigned
