REQUIREMENTS & YOUR EXPERTISE

  • Successfully completed your education in Civil Engineering, Master in Construction or equivalent
  • Experience working in the field of civil works
  • Knowledge of construction methods and technologies and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
  • Knowledge of building codes and scheduling methods
  • You have experience in heavy concrete structures construction and transportation, preferably in a marine environment
  • Knowledge of construction worksite safety practice

Responsibilities:

  • Assurance that the duties of “Designers” are fulfilled under the Construction Regulations 2013.
  • Promote the use of general Principles of Prevention during different design stages, focusing on hazard identification and, where possible, eliminating hazards or reducing risks.
  • Facilitate cooperation between Designers responsible for land and marine elements of the project to minimize risks.
  • Prepare Preliminary Health and Safety Plans and submit them to the Client prior to construction contractor handover.
  • Collate relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File, ensuring smooth project delivery.
  • Manage notifications to the Health and Safety Authority and the Client regarding non-compliance and any written directions issued.
  • Oversee PSDP (Project Supervisor for the Design Process) directions to Designers and Contractors as needed.
  • Establish processes for the Offshore Phase 2 project to communicate control measures, design assumptions, and remaining risks to the PSCS (Project Supervisor for the Construction Stage) for inclusion in the Preliminary Safety and Health Plan.
  • Maintain regular communication with Project Managers and Designers on specific projects.
  • Coordinate PSDP meetings with Designers and project managers.
  • Develop project procedures in alignment with the Construction Regulations 2013 for the offshore project.
  • Establish a system for organizing and leading Design Safety Workshops.
  • Implement a process for evaluating Designers’ competencies.
  • Develop and deliver “Safety in Design” training, along with quality assurance processes and standards.
  • Enhance the delivery of safe designs by strengthening health and safety design processes.
  • Develop processes for conducting HAZOPs and other safety reviews.
  • Organize the collation of temporary and permanent works design certifications.
  • Ensure project records are accurate, updated, and maintained.
