Description:

How you’ll make a difference:
As a Project Support Officer, you will provide effective administrative support to project delivery teams, assisting project managers and project sponsors with the co-ordination of information, communication, monitoring and control activities to support successful project delivery.
Working with the Project Manager, you will assist colleagues to ensure that project objectives are achieved within timescales and budget, and in compliance with council and funder requirements.

What you will be doing:

  • You will undertake project work packages, monitor project outcomes and outputs to ensure that they comply with the defined deliverables, compiling project reports and aid in the preparation and delivery of presentations.
  • Daily, you will manage diaries, papers and correspondence across a number of projects, arrange and attend meetings and workshops, draft agendas, record detailed minutes for meetings and carry out relevant follow-up work.
  • Providing sound technical advice to customers, you will ensure that procedures and good practice are shared and that advice is provided and based on research monitoring and evaluated information.
  • Co-ordinating day to day operations, you will contribute to developing projects and processes, the monitoring of projects, reporting on cost effectiveness and quality standards and to the establishing, implementing and reviewing service standards and performance measures.
  • You will accurately record, monitor and maintain budgets and financial information, ensuring that accounts are reconciled, and variances are reported.
  • As required, you will support the Project Management Office, working on related tasks and helping other divisions and teams.

What we need from you:

  • You will hold a degree in a relevant subject, such as project management or transport planning, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
  • It is essential you understand how project management methodologies should be applied both accurately and effectively on all projects.
  • You will have or be able to achieve a good understanding of local government and will have worked in a similar service area.
  • We require you to have the ability to work across teams, meeting competing target deadlines and have excellent admin and document management skills and establish good working relationships with project managers, project sponsors, peers, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Undertaking effective research, you must be able to present findings in a clear, concise format and interpret technical data, making recommendations for implementation.
  • You should be able to undertake and demonstrate Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to keep abreast of changes in working practices.

This is a hybrid role meaning that you can work remotely or in our offices.
