DHL Global Forwarding currently have a vacancy for a Project Transport Manager Projects to join our team and come work with us! The role will be based in Brisbane Airport, QLD - and would report directly to the Head of Industrial Projects - Australia. This is a 6-month contract opportunity.

OVERALL ROLE PURPOSE

As a Project Transport Manager in our team, you will be required to:

• Supervise all cargo handling requirements for the project - May be implanted in client’s depots and/or project site pending project requirement.
• Coverage of other project cargo handling aspects for the IP division including travel to multi-destinations as required.
• Ensure cargo handling procedures are compliant with internal HSE processes, Operational procedures and industry best practice.
• Positively contribute in promoting safe and best practices with regards to HSE compliance within DGF Group, its Clients, Subcontractors and affiliates.
• Assist the project team and Client by identifying and supervising safe, efficient, and cost effective yards.
• Minimise risk exposure to the DGF group through careful planning of work activities, adherence to all internal and external procedures, and identification and reporting of hazards.
• Help the IP division meet strict KPI deadlines without compromising safety standards.
• Strictly control the record keeping of cargo deliveries to the client at relevant handover points.
• Work very closely with Project Transport Manager and other key project team members to ensure project priorities are completed in a timely manner.
• Supervise all Cargo discharging operations for Heavy Lift and Over-dimensional cargo packages.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE, YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:

• Freight forwarding experience in an Industrial Project environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications i.e. business /project management related education
• Strong knowledge of road transport procedures and regulations.
• Strong knowledge of cargo handling procedures and requirements.
• Strong knowledge of project one-dimensional and heavy lift cargo handling procedures.
• Strong project management, risk management and business process skills.
• Strong HSE disciplines and adherence to DHL and Client compliance requirements.
• Previous exposure and experience within with large projects
• Previous exposure working within a Global organisation
• Previous work experience in the Service Industry
• Previous work experience in the Freight forwarding industry (Desirable)
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Strong consulting, persuasion, influencing and negotiation skills.
• The ability to make safe and responsible decisions yet meet project KPI’s and project deadlines.
