Description:

We are in the search for a diligent Property Accountant to be a part of our team in the Real Estate & Property industry based in Calabasas, California. The role will encompass the preparation and analysis of financial statements, account reconciliations, and tenant billings among other tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements for all properties.
  • Conduct meticulous review of general ledgers to ensure correct account entries.
  • Prepare and analyze supporting schedules relevant to the preparation of monthly financials.
  • Conduct comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Analyze and prepare annual CAM reconciliations; address tenant disputes related to CAM charges.
  • Review leases and bill tenants accurately, making any necessary adjustments.
  • Accurately perform calculations for CPI and percentage rent.
  • Collaborate with property managers for the drafting of annual budgets and calculation of CAM estimates for tenants.
  • Handle lender reserve draws for reimbursement related to tenant improvements, leasing commissions, and capital expenditures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems such as AMSI and AppFolio.
  • Experience in account coding.
  • Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services.
  • Sound understanding and application of accounting functions.
  • Proficiency in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
  • Knowledge of accrual accounting.
  • Experience in auditing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in the real estate or property industry is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
