Description:

We are seeking a Property Accountant to join our client’s team located in Newtown, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our portfolio of properties, including tasks such as month-end closing, reconciliations, lease accounting, fixed asset accounting and census/vacancy reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and approve accounts payable invoices related to assets.
  • Execute and upload monthly journal entries for lease accounting and fixed assets.
  • Carry out monthly account reconciliations as necessary.
  • Maintain a comprehensive list of all properties.
  • Conduct monthly census/reporting for residential, host, unopened homes, and other key metrics.
  • Manage fixed asset and lease accounting modules in NetSuite.
  • Contribute to the creation of annual budgets.
  • Monitor leases for expiration, renewal, step changes, etc.
  • Assist with the review/renewal/approval of new/existing leases.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly variance reports for internal management reporting.
  • Process and distribute reports.
  • Monitor work orders.
  • Assist with the review/approval of bids for projects.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • Proficiency in Account Coding is required
  • Demonstrated experience with Accounting Software Systems is necessary
  • Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is expected
  • Proficiency in AMSI is a must
  • Experience with AppFolio is essential
  • Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions is needed
  • Ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is crucial
  • Knowledge of Accrual Accounting is required
  • Experience with Auditing is necessary
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial
  • Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines is necessary
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is expected.
