Description:

Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada’s largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.3 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. Killam’s strategy to drive value and profitability focuses on three priorities: (1) increase earnings from the existing portfolio; (2) expand the portfolio and diversify geographically through accretive acquisitions, targeting newer properties and dispositions of non-core assets; and (3) develop high-quality properties in its core markets.
We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Property Administrator to join our office team in Calgary, AB at our Nolan Hill location (100 Nolan Hill Rise NW).

What you will do:

  • Maintain files, produce correspondence, and monitor special projects;
  • Provide general administrative support and coverage for reception duties: greet tenants, answer phones and redirect calls;
  • Collect outstanding rent;
  • Issue purchase orders, create work orders, and close when complete;
  • Ensure tenant files are kept up to date;
  • Assist with preparing monthly reports;
  • Other administrative reports and duties as assigned.

Who you are:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills;
  • Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word & Excel. Familiarity with Yardi software is considered an asset;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Previous customer service, accounting and/or collections experience is considered an asset;
  • Experience in the property management industry is preferable.
