Our team is looking to expand our talent pipeline with the addition of Property Closing Officer supporting our client in the Greater Toronto Area and joining us in Land and Property Advisory Solutions Division.
This is a 6-month contract position in a hybrid environment, with a potential for extension. The worker will be hosted at our client’s office will be supporting with closing functions during property acquisitions. Real estate and property experience is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ progressive experience in real estate, transactions, project management, cost control, budget control, and/or management, preferably within a real estate organization, or transit infrastructure environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is an asset
  • Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Previous experience in real estate transactions, law clerk, or property accounting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of budget, project schedule, forecasts, and property closings is required.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills are essential to generate reports and present to Senior Management or equivalent level

Responsibilities:

  • Examine and provide a concise overview of contracts, property-related legal paperwork, the Expropriations Act, and any other pertinent documents related to the acquisition.
  • Examine Statement of Adjustments, Title Transfer Deeds, R-Plan registrations, and other closing documentation.
  • Carry out the Closing responsibilities during property acquisitions to facilitate the timely transfer of funds and ensure all necessary supporting documents are in place before proceeding with the property closing.
  • Maintain communication with various Stakeholders from different municipalities to ensure that closing requests are processed promptly.
  • Identify and manage financial issues that have the potential to affect project outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with company property data management database to guarantee that information is up-to-date, accurate, and consistently reflected in all reports.
