Bexley is an outer London Borough with the best of both worlds, located between the hustle and bustle of London and the Garden of England, Kent. Within the borough we have award winning parks, open spaces and listed heritage sites.
The Property and Facilities Management Team (P&FM) is responsible for all non-housing property assets across the Council’s estate. We are comprised of a diverse team of professionals who are passionate about all aspects of property management and development covering everything from Leasing and Licencing though to reactive and planned maintenance, and capital programme. The team also has responsibility for corporate health and safety and business continuity and emergency planning.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

You will have sound experience in managing political and client service expectations over multiple projects and associated sites with a range of occupants and associated service delivery.
You will have significant post qualification experience in the areas of valuation, commercial estate management, professional property obtained in a Local Authority or other public sector organisation.
You will be a full member of RICS or relevant professional qualification in a property related field.

Responsibilities:

To lead the commercial estate management comprising professional surveyors and technical support staff in undertaking professional work on the both the Council’s commercial and corporate estates.
The functions will include commercial estate management work, the management of rental arrears/credit control, undertaking regular inspections, tenant liaison, ensuring tenant/leaseholder compliance, negotiating rent reviews/lease renewals and completing annual asset valuations.
To be the primary contact/liaison for the commercial and corporate estates with Council tenants, operational tenants and management agents.
Driving both the commercial and corporate estates to improve the performance of the Council’s property portfolio. This includes providing professional property advice and expertise to colleagues across the organisation and supporting the Council’s asset valuation programme and wider regeneration ambitions.
