EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (PLEASE ATTACH ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS)
- Completion of a post-secondary education in a related field required; Bachelor`s Degree is preferred
- 2 years’ administration experience required
- Experience working in an Indigenous community is essential
- Certified First Nation Tax Administrator considered an asset
- Valid BC Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle
- Criminal Record Check required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Cowichan Tribes internal departments and programs
- Working knowledge of property tax and land management practices, including budget processes, lease agreements and payment collection
- Well-developed written, oral and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong time management with the ability to multitask different tasks simultaneously
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Strong understanding of Quw’utsun culture, customs, traditions and the Hul’q’umi’num’ language or a willingness to learn
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Director of Lulumexun Lands & Natural Resources, the purpose of the Property Tax and Land Management Coordinator is to coordinate and track property tax and land management activities & requirements and provide administrative support to the program. This is a permanent, full-time position that works primarily in office with moderate local travel required.
