Responsibilities:

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Mariner is seeking a highly motivated recent grad or early career professional (less than 5 years’ experience) for a full-time Proposal Coordinator and Copywriter position. This role will be responsible for supporting the writing, development, and delivery of competitive consulting proposals to help secure new business for Mariner. This successful candidate will work to support a cross-functional Proposal, Sales Enablement & Marketing team to assist in responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs) and other pursuit opportunities as required.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:

  • Work within the Proposal, Sales Enablement & Marketing team to develop timely, high quality, and competitive consulting proposals and RFP responses by:
  • Reviewing RFP instructions to define the proposal document set-up, format, and templates required to ensure full compliancy to the format instructions for the bid response.
  • Providing follow-up with respect to team members’ proposal input deliverables and time frames and escalating when required.
  • Following internal governance practices including setting meetings and calls.
  • Research, write, and edit standard/customized proposal content and provide document quality assurance.
  • Support development of marketing content, collateral, and copyright. Work with marketing team to evolve service descriptions for input to marketing collateral; and,
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for support (e.g. customized presentations, pursuit opportunities, collateral, and unsolicited proposals, etc.)
  • Serve as a liaison between the proposal response team and other support function (e.g. Marketing, consultants, SMEs).
  • Meet 100% proposal submission deadlines.
  • Demonstrate exceptional multitasking skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:

  • Post-secondary education in English, Journalism, Political Science, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Strong writing and communication skills (verbal & written) in English.
  • Logical and systematic approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, and demonstrated self-starter.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS PowerPoint);
  • Strong teaming capabilities with proven ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, deadline and results-driven.
  • Willingness to learn and invest time in developing knowledge and competencies.
  • Aptitude for layout, formatting design, and presentation of marketing proposals is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Canva or other PowerPoint Designers is considered an asset.
  • Experience with AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) would be considered an asset.
  • General knowledge of consulting, marketing, or the proposal domain is considered an asset.
  • Strong business acumen is an asset.
