Please Note: This is a temporary position ending on or before March 28, 2025, with the possibility of extension.
This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on-campus for the designated training period and regular portions of time after.
This posting may be used to fill multiple vacancies.
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Specialist cultivates relationships and provides proactive, personalized support to help prospects and applicants complete their applications and enroll in NAIT programs. Well-versed in NAIT’s admissions processes and requirements and best practices in relationship management, the Specialist anticipates the questions and needs of prospects and applicants and provides appropriate intervention and support to ensure they progress to the next stage of the application funnel. The PAR Team will handle inbound inquiries from prospective students and applicants as well as conduct targeted outbound outreach in order to contact potential students with the goal of increasing applicants and enrollment with NAIT.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Detailed knowledge of NAIT programs, policies, services, admissions practices and processes, and enrolment objectives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong intercultural skills and ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
A strong understanding of customer relationship management and nurturing practices.
Extensive knowledge of Canadian and Alberta post-secondary education systems.
Knowledge and awareness of different target audiences (Aboriginal, newcomers, mature students, first generation, high school students, transfer students, youth, etc.) and their preferences, perspectives, and challenges.
Effective time management skills, ability to plan and prioritize daily activities.
Take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high-energy, and enthusiasm.
Pushes self and help others to achieve results.
Strong computer skills, able to learn and adapt to different software and technologies quickly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma required.
Experience in administrative work related to the position assignment.
Previous experience in a post-secondary institution (student recruitment, admissions or advising) would be an asset.
1-3 years related experience in customer service required.
2-3 years sales experience is an asset.
Fluency in additional languages is an asset.
Having worked, lived or studied abroad is an asset.
RISIA or ICCRC license would be an asset.
Customer Relations Management (CRM) system experience would be an asset.
Equivalencies may be considered.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $55,138.46 - $72,519.72 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Advisor/Specialist I).
This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.

Responsibilities:

Builds trust and cultivates relationships with a caseload of prospects and applicants.
Provides 1:1 and group support to help prospects and applicants complete their applications and enroll.
Answers questions about NAIT and its programs; Edmonton, Alberta; and Canada to help prospects and applicants make informed decisions.
Positions NAIT and specific NAIT programs as the top choice to meet prospects and applicants’ goals.
Proactively communicates with prospects and applicants to eliminate any potential confusion and barriers, and to encourage them to take the next step.
Identify and implement strategies to help prospects and applicants complete the next call to action.
Monitors prospects and applicants’ progress through the admissions process.
Track progress towards established conversion and enrolment targets.
Coordinates booking of appointments with or gathering of necessary information from other departments for prospects and applicants.
Measure the impacts of various strategies and communications for continuous improvements.
Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Manager.
