WHERE YOU COME IN

We are looking for a Prospect Researcher to join our team at Make-A-Wish Canada. Reporting to the Director, National Grants & Foundations, the Researcher is responsible for identifying and evaluating potential donors to support Make-A-Wish Canada’s fundraising initiatives. This role involves gathering and analyzing data on individuals, corporations, and foundations to inform and support the organization’s fundraising strategy.
This role can be based out of any MAWC office and is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
  • Utilize various research tools, databases, and resources to gather and verify information.
  • Analyze financial capacity, philanthropic interests, and giving history of prospects.
  • Prepare detailed research profiles and reports to support fundraising efforts.
  • Work closely with both the National Development team as well as regional development teams to align research activities with fundraising goals.
  • Maintain and update the donor database (SalesForce) with accurate and comprehensive information.
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices in prospect research and fundraising.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance the organization’s prospecting efforts.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay current with advancements in prospect research methodologies and technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
