The candidate may be required to carry out physical security escorts in a follow car with travelling exhibitions and will be involved with security functions during various Special Events and VIP functions. The National Gallery uses a hybrid security force with an in-house Protection Services division and a separate contract guard force. Shifts are scheduled as far in advance as possible with the opportunity for additional shifts on short notice. Overtime shifts are allotted based on accrued hours and availability (Officers with the least number of hours are contacted first).
