Responsibilities:
As a Protection Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, testing, and installation of protection systems, SCADA, and communications networks. Your work will directly contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our electrical network. This role involves a variety of tasks, including diagnosing faults, conducting system tests, installing protection relays, and assisting with field-based projects. You’ll be involved in both routine maintenance and more complex technical projects, ensuring that all work is completed in line with safety and operational standards.
You’ll also play a key role in providing technical support to engineering and operations teams, offering advice on system improvements and troubleshooting electrical network issues. The role will require you to work safely across all electrical network environments, including zone substations, and take part in the 24/7 on-call roster.
