JOB DESCRIPTION:

Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers is looking for a Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) to join our Urgent Recovery Center in Durant who embodies the agency core values of Hope, Dedication, and Community.

  • The RSS provides peer support services, based on an individualized, recovery-focused service philosophy that allows individuals the opportunity to manage their own recovery and advocacy process.
  • The RSS will work to enhance the development of natural supports, coping skills and other skills necessary for individuals served to function independently in the community.
  • Serves as an advocate and provides information and peer support for consumers in a community setting.
  • Performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers in regaining control of their lives and recovery processes. Must possess the skills to maintain a high level of professional and ethical interactions with consumers and community stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Lived experience as a recipient of mental health services.
  • Must possess ability to work with the public, to maintain an effective working relationship with others, and to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must obtain RSS certification through ODMHSAS within first 3 months of employment and maintain throughout employment.
